As we mark this year’s International Day of Women and Girls in Science, we’re proud to reflect on the impact of an initiative we supported in honour of this day last year.
In 2025, Parkwalk, together with our parent company IP Group plc, sponsored four placements on Form the Future CIC’s Cambridge Unlocked programme. Our aim was to help broaden access to STEM careers for talented young women by providing meaningful exposure to real scientific and technical environments.
Through the programme, participants gained hands-on experience within science-led organisations, including time spent with our portfolio company Cambridge GaN Devices Ltd. The placement not only developed their skills and confidence but also allowed them to see themselves represented in the sector.
The impact was clear: the experience helped these young women build belief in their potential, understand the breadth of opportunity within STEM, and envision a future where they can thrive.
This year, we’re proud to celebrate both the progress made and the young women shaping the future of science. We remain committed to supporting greater gender diversity across the STEM ecosystem because innovation depends on it.
Here’s to empowering the next generation of scientists, engineers and innovators.
